IWUG Board of Directors Elections

Fellow IWUGers:

We've been threatening to do it for some time now.  It's just we haven't made the time to actually follow through with it.  It's time for us to elect our IWUG Board of Directors.  This is the formal governing body for the group - the folks who are "officially" responsible for IWUG.  Four dedicated geeks have been serving in this capacity since the group's formation and have done a wonderful job - but it's important that the group be led by a team of individuals who have been truly elected by the membership.  Which is why we're kicking off this process and hope that we'll have it wrapped up in Jan.

This is pretty simple, actually.  The first step is to make sure that we have a list of nominees which the group feels is complete - this is your chance to either nominate yourself or nominate someone who you feel will do a great job in leading IWUG over the next year.  Once the nominations are in, we'll have a web-based voting period during which everyone can make their voice heard.  There are five members of the Board of Directors so you'll be able to vote for up to five people from the list of nominees.  The Board of Directors is important - it's the group that choses IWUG's President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and appoints folks to the Steering Committee.  So, make your nominations and votes wisely!

Here is the current list of nominees:

Sumeeth Evans
Sumeeth is IT Director for Collegiate Housing Services.  He's been very involved as a Steering Committee member for almost 2 years and is also serving as the current IWUG secretary.

Jimmy May
Jimmy is one of the founders of the group and has been involved with it since its inception in June of 2003.  He is currently employed by Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) and is also involved with many other groups around town including the SQLPass user group.

Bob Roudebush
Bob is a former Technology Specialist for Microsoft and is now working with Double-Take Software.  He has been involved with the group since its formation in June 2003 and has served as the IWUG president.  Since it has been vacated for the last several months, Bob has also served as the IWUG vice-president.

Ben Smith
Ben is a local Technology Specialist for Microsoft Corporation.  He has been involved with the group since its formation in June 2003 and has served as both IWUG secretary and IWUG treasurer.

Please feel free to send your own nominations to info@iwug.net.  Or, feel free to post them as comments to this blog entry.  Nominations will end January 18th, 2007 at 12:00am.  We'll release the final slate at the January meeting and provide details on how you can cast your votes then.

Your Fellow Geek,
Bob Roudebush - IWUG President

I would like to nominate three individuals:  Chad Harmon, Rob Bogue, and Bryan Letcher.  All three have been very active with the IWUG Steering Committee.  Chad is the one who leads the creation and distribution of our newsletter at every meeting.  And Rob and Bryan, since joining the committee a short time ago, have been active participants and part of the group's continued success.

Chad Harmon

Rob Bogue

Bryan Letcher

Greg Diersing nominates Jason Stanke:

I put forth Jason Stanke.

Jason is the Microsoft Practice Director for Sogeti, a large Microsoft focused consulting firm.  He's been very involved as a Steering Committee member for more then a year and involved with the group not long after it's formation.

Thank you,

Greg Diersing, CISSP
